What should I do about my laptop battery?
I've had my Inspiron 1505 for a little over 2 years now. For the past couple of months my battery light turns red every time I unplug the charger. My laptop only works if you have it plugged into the wall. It's only been 2 years, is this normal? Is there a way to fix it or should I just buy a new battery? I'm not even sure what a good price for a new battery would be.
Pretty typical for Dell (or most laptops in general).
Buy a new one from eBay.com or directly from Dell (more expensive but potentially better quality and you have a vendor to argue with if it goes bad quickly).
See if they make a higher capacity one for your machine (if you have a "6 cell", get a "9 cell" etc). You might need to find that info out from Dell.com's accessory store, then look up something like 9 cell inspiron 1505 battery etc on eBay.com.
You can also compare mAH ratings. Higher is better, but sometimes the values are inflated over reality.
It will be a bit heavier, but longer run time.
